Celebrate Family Day in the Arts District
On Monday, February 17, 2025, from 12 – 5 pm, join the Edmonton Arts Council, City of Edmonton, the Citadel Theatre, Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton Public Library and more, to participate in a variety of family-friendly programming. Events include live music, circus arts, dance, and theatre. In addition to the scheduled performances, there will also be games and skating at City Hall plaza. Free parking is available at City of Edmonton EPark locations.
PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE
City Hall:
- Live reggae music with Saint and the Full 100 Band from 1 – 1:45 pm, 2:15 – 3 pm, and 3:15 – 4 pm.
- RegMoFit (Reggae Modern Fitness), family-friendly fitness that incorporates reggae/dancehall moves, from 1:45 – 2:15 pm and 3 – 3:15 pm.
- Free skate rentals at the City Hall rink from 12 — 5 pm.
Art Gallery of Alberta – Ledcor Theatre (2 Sir Winston Churchill Square):
- Free admission to the gallery from 11 am – 4:15 pm.
- Enjoy Demmi’s Magic Ballon Show, an interactive balloon show filled with amazing balloon sculptures, magic and games, from 12 – 12:30 pm.
- Learn magic, juggling, plate spinning and more with Jojo’s Magic Circus from 1– 1:30 pm.
- Spandy Andy will keep the audience laughing with a high energy performance from 2:30 – 3:15 pm.
Citadel Theatre – Zeidler Theatre (9828 101A Ave):
- Catch a screening of the original Wizard of Oz (1939) at 12:15 pm and 2:45 pm.
- Concession is open and families can warm up with craft colouring tables featuring Frozen and Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Citadel Theatre – Rice Theatre (9828 101A Ave):
- A musical adaptation of Rapunzel by Alberta Musical Theatre from 12 – 1 pm and 3 – 4 pm.
Citadel Theatre – Tucker Amphitheatre (9828 101A Ave):
- Ignite your creativity with Puddle of Mud Productions from 12:30 – 1:15 pm and 2 – 2:45 pm.
- Hoop dancing performance with Lakota Tootoosis from 3:30 – 4 pm.
Edmonton Public Library (Stanley A. Milner Branch) – (7 Sir Winston Churchill Square):
- Library Lunchtime Concert: Cree Meets Celtic Fiddle from 2 – 2:45 pm.
- Family Film Screening: The Goonies from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
